"He wanted to call Ed Connor, a clinical psychologist who often testifies in criminal trials across Northern Kentucky."

Another criminal case involving Dr. Edward J Connor.

Anonymous Harassment

Today I posted all of Anonymous' comments. Anonymous is the name of the person who continues to leave negative comments on this blog. Anonymous claims that they are big into the Father's Rights movement however he never seems to give any facts or credible arguments. Unfortunately, Anonymous has to resort to calling name calling, attacking my mother, and making fun of my children not having a father just because I bring attention to the actions of Dr. Edward J Connor and Dr. Sara Jone-Connor. Anonymous' latest post claimed that I was helping Dr. Connor by advertising for him. Anonymous claimed that Dr. Connor had an advertisement on this blog and Anonymous clicked on it. I think he was mad when I informed him that the blog made money when people click on the links. He claimed that Dr. Connor made more money off of it. If anyone who visited this site went to Dr. Edward J Connor or Dr. Sara Jones-Connor for psychological services, it's on them. I tried my best to warn them. In fact, I am going to start a campaign to warn people in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky areas about the troubles in the family court system. I explained this to Anonymous in a recent comment on this blog. The following is a copy of the comment in response to Anonymous' latest comment regarding his claim that I was making Dr. Connor money with my internet writings:

"Dr. Connor probably needs the money. I'm sure his mortgage with 5/3 Bank on his house in the Triple Crown Subdivision in Union, Kentucky isn't cheap. There are some nice houses on his street. I have family that lives a couple streets over from Dr. Connor. I wonder if I should warn my family's neighborhood about the troubles within the family court system? Sometimes you just have to grab the REIGHns and fight to bring change for the good of families. It's all about protecting children. www.DanHelpsKids.com."

I'm sorry to take up people's time with this silly Anonymous guy but I wanted to show people an example of how people turn to blathering name calling and harassment when they do not have a worthy argument to support their opinions. Anonymous is one of them. He continues to post derogatory comments about my children, my family and me because he is mad that I write about Dr. Connor's illegal actions. Is Anonymous Dr. Connor? I don't know but it is definitely someone who is very protective of Dr Edward J Connor because he has taken the time to write over fifteen hundred words (1,500) worth of comments in the last week alone. Anonymous seems to be very upset with me. Although Anonymous' comments do not bother me too much, I feel he is too much of a coward to present any physical danger, I have family and friends who are concerned about Anonymous' potential to cause physical harm because Anonymous clearly isn't the most sane person in the bunch.

"Anonymous" may be dropping off the deep end...

Apparently I touched a nerve with last night’s blog post, “Disgruntled Dan.” Yesterday, Monday June 21, 2010, I published a post about someone writing vague but positive reviews of Dr. Edward J. Connor on business review websites. These “positive” reviews of Dr. Ed Connor also attack me for criticizing Dr. Connor. I woke up this morning to find five (5) new comments on my blog from someone named “Anonymous.” The content of the comments range from “concerns” that people are going to get me when I least expect it to speculation of the size of my male genitalia. Did the court appointed psychologist, Dr. Edward J Connor, write this? I don’t know, but someone appears to be very angry about my writings pertaining to Dr. Edward Connor and Dr. Sara Jones-Connor of Connor and Associates in Erlanger, Kentucky. If Dr. Connor did write this, it only further demonstrates what a dangerous individual Dr. Connor really is. See what Anonymous had to say:

Dan, you must have a REALLY small one. Have you looked into having surgery to enlarge it? It might help with your low self esteem issues.

Dan,

Be very careful. They are plotting against you. You've made them mad. They know you are right.

Watch out, Dan. Watch out. They are after you.

You are a true victim, Dan.

I'll bet they watch you like a hawk.

I'd be scared to do what you are doing. They're probably trying to shut you up, aren't they? Probably some way that you'll never see coming - behind closed doors and in ways you'll never know. When you least expect it - BAM! I admire you, Dan. You are one brave man.

You'll show them, won't you, Dan? You are my hero.

Dan the Brave Man

Go, Dan!

A touching email

Yesterday I received an email from another parent involved with the family court system. The mother thanked me for the information I've made available on my websites. I am thankful that I was able to help at least one more parent cope with the terrors of the family court system. Fear of losing a child is worse than the fear of death. Why should so many parents be subjected to this kind of fear? If a parent speaks out, they are labeled paranoid, narcissistic, or dangerous. If they do not speak out, they risk losing their children. The courts encourage bad behavior because they punish those who speak out against the bad behavior. Judge James D Humphrey and Dr. Edward J Connor believed my internet writings were harmful to my three and five year old daughters. If Judge Humphrey and Dr. Connor would not have acted in an unethical and/or illegal manner, there would be nothing to write about. If my ex-wife can testify that I am a dangerous parent without any evidence of abuse or neglect, why shouldn't I be able to talk about it? She complained that it could hinder her future employment. Go to the Ripley County Courthouse and do a background check on me. You'll find records stating that I may be a danger to my children, my ex-wife, and/or myself. How would that check out with a potential employer? My ex-wife testified in court that one time I became so enraged, she had to lock her and the girls in the bathroom and she ran bath water and sang songs to drown out my yelling. If that really happened, why didn't I use the screwdriver-like key above the woodwork of the bathroom door? I placed it there in the case one of the girls locked the bathroom door and couldn't get out. If parents believed that they would be held publicly accountable for what they said in court, maybe they wouldn't tell the tales. It is mind boggling to try to understand the logic that publicizing harmful actions to children is in fact more harmful than the original acts themselves. Lying in an effort to deprive children of a parent is horrific, but somehow publicizing the lie is worse. This is a new era for the rights of children and parents because courts are having difficulties keeping their activities undercover. The situation is somewhat similar to the scandal in the Catholic Church. At some point the health and safety of children is more important than protecting the system. Sooner or later a spark sets off an explosion where people begin to say, "The same thing happened to me." The secrets of small town courts can be exposed to the world with a few keystrokes. That's how this particular mother found my story that provided her with some intellectual and emotional support. No thank yous are needed; just knowing that my story helped another parent is thanks enough. We have to keep working to make it better. Thanks "A" for the kind email and I wish you the best of luck.

I was searching out similar issues on Internet and stumbled onto your site. After a long frustrating day in court, I embraced your story for many reasons, mostly the message to not fear, and to know that this insanity is all too real and not a result of my high drama delusional over reactive personality. It's a living hell and consumes the days and nights. Unlike your wife, I am at the other end of spectrum and too drained to say much else. I'm up late "advancing my knowledge" and thank you for providing such a labor of love. I wish you the best and hope your daughters are back in your life.

Yahoo Reviews Removed Dr. Connor's Business Listing

Yahoo Business Reviews pulled Dr. Connor's business profile from the web. It appears that Dr. Connor wasn't pleased with the negative reviews he was receiving. Now Yahoo lists Dr. Kirk Little as the inhabitant of 34 Erlanger Rd. Erlanger, Kentucky 41018. The name changed but the phone and address remained the same. I decided to call Dr. Little's office at the number listed, 859-341-5782, and to my surprise, the number still belonged to Dr. Edward J Connor of Connor and Associates. I did some research and found that there was a Dr. Kirk Little on Houston Road in Florence, Kentucky. When I called Dr. Little's office, the woman told me that Dr. Little did not have another office. Why would Yahoo have a business listing for Kirk Little with Dr. Connor's number? Who contacted Yahoo and requested that Dr. Connor's review site be taken down? What's the purpose of review sites when the business owner has the ability to manipulate the content?

Just another shameless attempt by Dr. Connor to hide from responsibility. Here's an idea Ed; start telling the truth. If you take money to perform a service, do it right. Dr. Connor seems to enjoy filing erroneous child custody evaluation reports with courts and then charging the clients to fix the mistakes. (Goto www.DanHelpsKids.com for more information.) How can he get away with it? Because he is Ed Connor. Well I am Dan Brewington and I am helping people take a stand. You can stick to your guns Ed but you are slowly running out of people to believe your stories. Honesty would have served you well.

Intro to Dr. Edward J. Connor Psy. D.

Dr. Edward J. Connor Psy. D. is forensic psychologist in the Greater Cincinnati Area which covers Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana.  My spouse and I signed an agreed order of the Court to seek the services of Dr. Connor for a child custody evaluation.  My attorney at the time, Thomas Blondell, told me that Dr. Connor was the only evaluator he had ever used since he moved to Southeastern Indiana so I didn’t ask any questions.  I had absolutely no idea of what was in store for me.

My divorce case is in the Ripley Circuit Court because we lived in Ripley County Indiana.  Dr. Connor’s office, Connor and Associates, PLLC, is located in Erlanger, KY, but he frequently does work for neighboring Indiana courts.  I went through the evaluation process in an honest and forthcoming fashion.  I didn’t lie, exaggerate, bad mouth my wife, etc… I was honest about some not so flattering things in my history.  I had a good time playing with my girls during the observation sessions.  I thought it was a lock that we would get joint custody because the kids were comfortable with both parents and I felt I presented myself as a calm, rational, and responsible father.  Then I got hit by the Mack Truck (aka Dr. Connor’s August 29, 2007 evaluation report) that tried to take my girls away.

“Dan can certainly provide childcare for the children but we believe that minimizing the time he has with the children will in fact, sustain their existing bond.”  You’re probably asking the same question most people ask; “what the hell does that mean?”  What makes it even more confusing is that two sentences prior to that statement Dr. Connor wrote “it is clear that the children are very attached to both parents.”  Dr. Connor said that I couldn’t communicate because of my “severe” ADHD.  Dr. Connor mentioned several times throughout the evaluation that he couldn’t understand me.  He put broken, out of context quotes of mine in the evaluation and claimed that I had difficulties communicating.  Dr. Connor’s main reason why my time with my little girls should be minimized was because I couldn’t communicate.  It was truly the worst day of my life.

Try telling an attorney that an evaluator is lying about you.  Try telling an attorney you feel like you are in the Twilight Zone because the report you just read wasn’t about you.  My attorney, Thomas Blondell, kept saying “I don’t know if it’s a bad evaluation.  I’m not a psychologist.”  (I did later find that Mr. Blondell was a child advocate in Cook County, Illinois so he was probably very familiar with evaluations.)  Mr. Blondell did nothing except for listen to me and bill me.  He eventually “fired” me in mid February 2008, citing communication problems (how convenient); but I feel it had more to do with not wanting to go against the only evaluator that he has ever used, and being mad that I picketed my former attorney’s firm.  When I went to get my case file, I found that Thomas Blondell had left Wood and Lamping for another firm without telling anyone the status of my case.  A couple of weeks later, he filed to run in the Democratic Primary for Dearborn Superior Court Judge.  Luckily he got shellacked in the primary.

Dr. Connor encouraged people to submit, in writing, any concerns about errors in the evaluation.  I began writing a rebuttal in October 2007.  I wrote three or four drafts in an attempt to get an objective but firm response to an evaluation, which I thought was horrific.  By horrific, I mean Dr. Connor confused the names of my daughters throughout the evaluation.  On February 19, 2008, I hand delivered my 17 page written response to Dr. Connor.  In a letter to the Court dated February 21, 2008, Dr. Connor wrote “Mr. Brewington’s documents indicate that there are numerous errors and oversights in the report” and offered additional sessions to correct the “numerous errors and oversights.”

I know what you’re thinking.  How can there be numerous errors and oversights in something as important as a child custody evaluation?  Better yet, Dr. Connor expected us to pay for the additional sessions to correct the “numerous errors and oversights” to the tune of $350.00 a piece.  But getting a shot to redeem myself was worth the money.

Dr. Connor seemed to be less cooperative when he found out I was representing myself.  I didn’t set out to act as my own attorney.  [NOTE: if you ever find yourself in a similar predicament, do not tell a prospective lawyer that you were screwed by a custody evaluator and your second attorney fired you after he found out you picketed your first attorney’s office.  They tend to avoid contact with you.]  I was forced to go at it alone.  I decided to get a copy of the case file, from the evaluation report, as I was entitled to per Dr. Connor’s agreement that my wife and I signed.  I thought it might provide some insight to things like what happened when Dr. Connor tried to contact my brother Mark but his phone was disconnected.  (My brother’s name is Matt and he has two contact numbers; none of which had been disconnected.)  I requested a copy on March 6, 2008.  On March 11 Dr. Connor said I wasn’t entitled to it because it contained my wife’s confidential information.  On March 25, I reminded Dr. Connor of his agreement.  On March 26, Dr. Connor stated that he would “be happy” to release the case file to me once he got verification from the Court that I was representing myself.  On March 27, Dr. Connor “interpreted” the Court’s ruling that I was not entitled to the evaluation case file.  On April 16, Dr. Connor wrote Mr. Brewington is in fact correct that our contract indicates that we will provide the representing attorneys a copy of the case file, but given the circumstances we feel a court order is necessary given that Mr. Brewington is representing himself pro se.  On August 4, Dr. Connor stated that there are state and HIPAA laws that prevent him from releasing the case file without a court order or my wife’s consent.  Judge Carl H. Taul gave several reasons as to why he wasn’t going to order the release of the case file.  Kentucky Revised Statue 403.300 (Dr. Connor’s practice is in KY) states that the evaluator has to release the file to the representing attorney OR directly to an unrepresented party.  BTW, I still don’t have a copy of the case file.

Crazy you say?  This barely scraps the surface.  I’ve subpoenaed former Judge Carl H. Taul to testify in the final hearing.  I invited my first attorney as well.  If the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology don’t get their act together, we may see all nine of them at the final hearing as well.  I know that anything I write can be used against me in the trial, but everything I write is true and I don’t slander my soon to be ex because I feel I would be letting my little girls down.  I’m just here as an advocate and to provide a little entertainment because it’s always funny when “professions” whine about being picked on by the unrepresented dad.  I’m going to make a push to add more by this weekend, in the meantime, don’t forget to stop by www.dadsfamilycourtexperience.com for more information.  Thanks.
